Laptop Repair

Repair your laptop or buy a new one?

It’s a fact, laptops are, at times, considered a throw-away commodity today.  More people will spend money on fixing their PC than they will on fixing their laptop.  Reason being, well, there’s many, but the main reason is cost.  Today you can buy a laptop with all new programing for basically the same price as it would cost to repair it.  But, that’s not always true.
Before you consider getting a new laptop, consider this.  No matter what, you’ll have to pay someone to transfer your data and programs if you want to keep them, and you probably won’t have the same O.S. as you did before.  Windows has flooded the market with their 8.1, many people complain about it.  Many times if you want to use the same O.S. as you had before it’s going to be an additional cost for the install.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

What I mean by that is, a computer can go down for many reasons.   Often times, it’s an easy fix.  However, with today’s mindset of “just buy a new one”, (think Apple), it’s easy to just not deal with the stress of fixing it yourself or finding a reliable repair person.  Cost of new versus repair.  More times than not, any computer glitch is a programming issue.  Viruses, malware, trojans, there are any number of things.  Most of them are something that is easily fixed, or can be fixed and a lot more economical than replacing your whole computer!
Think about it.  Anytime you get a new system, there’s always a learning curve of some sort.  If you’re a Vista user, and you buy a new 8.1, there’s a big gap between the two.  If you didn’t buy a system that was a touch screen, then Windows 8.1 is going to look odd to you.
Easily fixed for someone like me is different for the normal computer owner.  Knowing what the symptoms are and how to fix them can take a DYI’er into frantic episodes!  One mistake can make many, many more. It’s worth the time to have an expert take a look at it!  Many computer repair companies, like mine, offer free diagnostics.
